No Title Fit

I mourn and grieve. O, the sorrow, to keep a restless boy awake!
My fits of rage toward Truth confuse me. Why?

Tonight a prayer is answered.

I have been praying for an abhorrence of my sin for a while now. I think I just got it. Or I'm beginning to get it. It's not right for me to explain it now, maybe later. But I am comforted by the words of woman, and not ashamed. God has used her.

"My sin, o the bliss of this glorious thought. My sin, not in part but the whole was nailed to the cross and I bear it not more! Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, O my soul!"

That is one of the best verses ever written. Something about that very verse that always gets me when I sing that song is the way she pauses briefly to reflect by saying "o the bliss of this glorious thought". It is a song I did not discover until I was in high school and I will tell you it brings great comfort to my soul. The song I sing by Michael Card called Jubilee has a line that has a similar affect on me: "To be so completely guilty given over to dispair, to look into your judges face and see your savior there" One more from Michael is the line in Joy in the Journey that say " To all who've been born of the spirit and who share incarnation with him. Who belong to eternity stranded in time and weary of struggling with sin. Forget not the hope that's before you and never stop counting the cost, remember the hopelessness when you were lost!" Know this my friend...the moment you are not concerned about your sinfulness is the time you need to really be concerned. Never let it burden you down to the point of dispair or hopelessness. Jesus truly has paid it all

Sarah Bradshaw said...

Begone unbelief, my Savior is near,
And for my relief will surely appear:
By faith let me wrestle with God in the storm,
And help me, my Savior, the faith to adorn

Though dark be my way, since He is my guide,
'Tis mine to obey, and His to provide;
Though cisterns be broken, and creatures all fail,
The word He has spoken will surely prevail.

-- John Newton

Never give up on the totally sufficiency and willingness of Christ to shatter your sinful flesh and clothe your with His righteousness. Though it may tarry, wait for it. He is faithful, and will also do it.

For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him. That is why it is through Him that we utter our Amen to God for His glory. And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2 Cor. 1:20-22

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.
